Certificate Course in Maritime Catering

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Candidates are strongly recommended to have Passports. Please note that the name in the Passport should be the same as given in the 10th Std. Certificate. Passport should not bear 'ECR REQUIRED' Endorsement.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Candidate must have successfully completed the School Secondary Certificate i.e. Class X with: At least 40% marks with at least 50% marks in English from a recognized board.

AGE LIMIT

18 to 25 years of age at the time of commencement of the course. No age relaxation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT

To be declared fit for selection, a candidate must be in good mental and physical health and free from any deficiency likely to interfere with the efficient performance of duties. Medically fit as per the M.S. (Medical Examination of Seafarer) rules 2000 as amended from time to time and also as per the D.G. Shipping guidelines.

EYESIGHT STANDARD

Candidates for the CCMC programme must have unaided 6/18 vision in both eyes. Color blindness is not permitted. Movement of the eyeballs must be full in all direction and the pupils should react normally to lighting conditions.

COURSE DURATION

Certificate Course in Maritime Catering is a 6 months full time programme starting twice a year i.e. every 1st January and 1st July.

Course Overview

Certificate Course in Maritime Catering scope involves exciting career paths in the field of Shipping & Maritime. There are enormous job opportunities for the candidates who have completed the basic course in this field. CCMC trains persons in stewarding and cooking. Work involves preparing & providing food (Vegetarian & Non Vegetarian), Beverages & housekeeping services to officers and crew of the ship. Trainees are required to cut meat / fish, prepare & taste non vegetarian dishes. They are also trained as deck- hand in case of requirement on board. Candidates who are willing to develop and enhance their skills and have an interest to work on ships are suitable for this course. Candidates who are very much interested in food management and can handle in favor of environmental conservation are also appropriate for this course.
