Qualifying in IMU-CET is mandatory for admission. Only unmarried candidates will be considered in addition with the following criteria have to be met in order to be eligible for admission into the B.Tech. in Marine Engineering programme.
Candidate should have passed in (10+2) or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English as separate subjects with a PCM average of not less than 60%. Minimum of 50% marks in the English language at Class X or XII.
17 to 25 years of age at the time of commencement of the course. No age relaxation.
To be declared fit for selection, a candidate must be in good mental and physical health and free from any deficiency likely to interfere with the efficient performance of duties. Medically fit as per the M.S. (Medical Examination of Seafarer) rules 2000 as amended from time to time and also as per the D.G. Shipping guidelines.
Candidates for the B.Tech. in Marine Engineering programme must have unaided 6/6 vision in both eyes. Color blindness is not permitted. Movement of the eyeballs must be full in all direction and the pupils should react normally to light and accommodation.
B.Tech. in Marine Engineering is a 4 year full time undergraduate programme.
Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering is the beginning of an extensive stream of specialized study about the engineering of marine machines, harbors, ships, oil platforms, and other constructions.
